Laptop: Compaq NX5000 S-Video not working

Compaq NX5000 S-Video not working!!
Have changed video resolutions as HP suggests on website, but not working.
Yes, the correct drivers are installed.
When switching over to s-video the screen just flicker black then back to normal.

Help Please
