laptop beeps

hi,
i have a thinkpad a21m that was plugged into the wrong ac adapter (48 volts). so, it wouldn't turn on. i replaced the motherboard. now, the laptop turns on, and the lights come on. but when it turns i hear 7 beeps: 3 beeps .... 3 beeps.... 1 beep. (total 7). and nothing is displayed on the lcd screen.
any idea what this is?

Are you sure that it is 7 beeps?

how long are the beeps, ie. 3 short beeps 3 long beeps etc.?

info: 3 beeps usually indicate a problem with the RAM (internal and graphics)... but the 3-3-1 beep pattern is unfamiliar so I can not state a correct diagnostic...
