I have a Dell Inspiron 2600 laptop which after 10 minuntes or so just logs me off for no apparent reason.

I started going through the process of elimination by removing the battery. This did not work because the computer still experienced the same problem by just logging me off.

I checked all my connection to the laptop and everything was fine.

I went into event viewer to see if any logs were written to the system log in event viewer but could not find any reasons as to why the laptop would log me off.

I also checked in the application log of event viewer and did not find anything there that gave insight as to why I was being logged off.

I went in and checked the power settings to make sure that they were not shutting down the machine after a couple of minutes of use, but everything was set for never when using an AC source.

Is there anyone out there that can offer some insight as to what might be the problem because, I am stumped?

When you say it logs you off do you mean logs off your user or shuts down the computer?

If it shuts it down it could be a hardware problem. I just worked on a desktop this weekend that would shutdown and restart itself every 10 minutes or so. After trying a different hard drive, memory and power supply it turned out to be the motherboard.
