LAPI vs CWS, which one is faster?

Hi all,

Recently, I needed to update a project from LAPI to CWS, but I figure out that CWS is a bit slower, why is that? and how can we make CWS operations faster? Operations involves folder and document creation and applying categories and updating categories?
One more question, how can we disable category inheritence in CWS? In Lapi, we can easily do that but I could not find any help doing that in CWS. any help would be appreciated.
