Hi all i have this laptop on my network that loses connection sometimes to the mail server i have unchecked the option in the power management for the network card where the computer puts the device on standby to conserve pwr i did this also on the server but still the laptop loses connection it will reconnect only when you unplug the network cable and plug it back again does any body have any suggestion

lap top loses connection to server reconnects when you unplug

Tell me more - is the mail server with an ISP or is it on the local network e.g. Exchange? When you loose contact how do you know? Can you still ping the mail server name?
Are you loosing contact with the server or is the server just droping the session becouse of inactivity?
Always more questions than answers!
