Lantastic-TCPIP Network Question

Hi All,

I have two DOS dummy terminals (with lantastic),that have to connect to a Windows XP server to run a program and print thru the network. I just replaced the old server, which was DOS. I installed Lantastic on the XP Server. The DOS terminals connect, but are noticably slower accessing data and going to this server to print, then when the server was DOS. Any ideas on how to speed things up? Thanks in advance....

I've had similiar experiences and am also looking for some answers. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article number 321169 deals with a similiar situation but does not fix our problem. Has a 20+ wks lantastic user I have found that as long as the server is running an older version of lantastic 8.01 than the workstations they seem to communicate with speed pretty well.

XP should not be a print server under Lantastic. In my opinion it is inappropriate for the role of fileserver in this setting as well. Windows 98SE is a better bet. But in any case update your Lantastic client software:
