Hi!
I´ve got an 3Com Lanplex2500, and i´ve tried to update the Firmware! That Failed!

When i now boot the Switch, the Message "Flash EPROM Checksum Failure"!

How i can install an new Image or can boot the switch over the Network!

I´ve tried the workaround from the Manual, which says that i have too boot via the PCMCIA slot! But it seems that my PC-Card cxe589EC doesn´t work by this way!

Does anyone have an Idea!?

Sorry fpr my bad english

The PCMCIA card you used is not the right one, in fact I am struggling to remember which one it is. As I recall it was a 3c589b or 3c589b so I would dig out all the old PCMCIA cards that have been discarded as laptops get upgraded and try anyones with the old 3com logo on.

The solution id in the knowledgebase is Solution ID:
112.0.4603762.1655346,and Solution ID: 112.0.474055.1525918

There is another solution using what is called an earthquake PCMCIA card which when booted loads ver 7.2.1 of the software onto the 2500 but these are as rare as hens teeth.
