Hello,

Has anybody any formal experience in developing Language translation capabilities in an Access Database? The requirement being that the Database prompts the user for a language selection viz. English, German, French etc... and depending on the user choice proceeds to display the forms and reports in the chosen language.

The starting point is surely developing a table comprising of a field for the words from each language that are used in the database forms and reports.

Thanks

Hi

I have not don eit before, but if I had to I think I would go at it by having all labels on all forms with sensible names, I would have a table with Fields

Language )
FormName )
LabelName )
LabelCaption

on the on load event of teh form, I would execute a query with Criteria of language, FormName, then I would iterate through the resulting recordset, setting the captions of the labels

Does that help?

Hi Ken,

The approach sounds logical. I will surely check it out.

Thanks
