Language tags and their charsets 1

Hi guys

Do you know where I could find a complete list of all the language tags with their respective names and recommended charsets?

W3.org is full of nerdy junk that can only manage to waste my time

It's only wasting your time if you are using it for a purpose or in a way that it wasn't designed for. The site contains the standards for (X)HTML (along with many other things) which should be an integral part to any website you create even if you do consider it "nerdy junk".

As johnwm says above, you'll have to be more specific on which language you are talking about. You should also post the question in the relevant forum for that language.

I bet I brought some confusion here

By language I mean the language we speak.
The language tag is <lang=""> with EN, FR, etc. as values.

So, I need to have a list of all the language extensions, their charsets and the language names.

Ex:

...
FR | French | iso-8859-1
...

You have part of the answer. Those are ISO standards.

But there is no charset specification for them. Make it unicode and will work for all.
