Hi. I am wondering what the best language is for my situation. Web server IIS, SQL server 2000. Do we go with PHP or ASP.NET? I've have a few consultants show me both PHP and asp forms and the asp forms seem to be more dynamic...Meaning things changed on the pages without clicking submit or doing a post/get type thing. One particular example showed a form which the user clicks more and another row populates so that a user can add more info. Sorta like google maps where you can add another destination.

One concern I have is PHP and SQL server. Authentication issues and what not. It seems that asp.net would coexists a little better.

What are your thoughts? Thanks.

you're being showed javascript and/or ajax interaction. nothing clever in that and nothing that suggests asp over php or vice versa.

horses for courses but i'd typically go for php as it is cross-platform. i also read a post from an MS ASP developer advocating that users give asp a try as it "almost covers the functionality of php".
