I am trying to find out how to change the LANGUAGE property of the SQL Server Properties to British rather than it's current setting of English(United States).

I know how to change the default language for logins but when I check the 'Properties->General' for the Sql Server Group and my (local) server , it displays English (United States).

Can the language be changed at this 'top' level ?

Check the BOL for setting the COLLATION.
