This may sound like I'm looking for the best of both worlds, but I am.

I've been working on a report that will be printed with a cover page. The cover page is going to be a standard letter. Then behind it is going to be a specific report to show stats.

I've created both of these however the report for the stats is landscape, while the letter should be portrait. Is there anyway to accommodate this on one report/subreport?

I'm trying to get around having to print a stack of letters and a stack of reports and then interfiling the correct report behind the letter.

Thanks

I think you are out of luck on this one. It is not possible to mix orientations within a report, even using subreports.
You can try to build a solution which prints one cover page report for one 'whatever' (customer?) and then print the corresponding stats report for the same 'whatever', but there is a risk that other outputs get mixed in if you are using a shared printer.
