Hi All,

I'm new to AVAYA IPO and this is my first installation.
Where can I change the LAN1 default gateway to reflect the correct voice VLAN interface.

How can I change the VLAN ID in DHCP option in the IPO.

There is no VLAN setting in IPO, the default gateway is set in the routing table.
Take a course or call Avaya, costs only €400 per hour, you must buy at leas tfive hours of support.

Add two DHCP options 176 and 242 to you normal DHCP server, add a string and enter L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=XXX (XXX is your VOICE VLAN id) now connect LAN1 of your IPO to a Switchport which is set untagged to you VOICEVLAN the LAN2/WAN is connected to your DATA VLAN Untagged (don't tagg your VOICE vlan to this port). Then set the phone switchports to Untagged to your DATA VLAN (default) and a second VLAN to tagged to the same phone switch port.

Also let LAN1 on the IPO be the DHCP server, you can use the IPO as a HTTP/TFTP server by changing the address to the IPO itself and put all your phone files on a CF Card in the front/back of the IPO.

The rest and the above you learn in a course.

has all the documentation you'll need though a course would be strongly recommended if you plan on installing this system.

Here is a good starting point on VLANs

Also the help file in Manager is sometimes quite useful. Pressing "help" brings up the help file info specific to your current page. Click help under Routing and it tells you how to set the default gateway.

Good luck with the install.

Hi All,
