I am new to IP office and have found my way around most things so far but I am struggling with anything related to the WAN

I am having issues with registering SIP clients on the WAN and Voicemail to email not being able to connect with the SMTP server

I suspect that I am not understanding the relationship between LAN 1 and LAN 2. Are they equivalent?

What is the recommended configuration for a system of eight 9608 phones, four Iphone SIP clients a Drey8320 router and an small office LAN?

I currently have the IPO connected to the LAN via LAN 1. Is this the source of my problems?

You have two different issues.
First the SMTP.
Where did you configure the SMTP settings for voicemail to email?
Use monitor and set a filter for SMTP
Then leave a message and see what it tells you.

Then the sip clients, do they register?
Drayteks do inspect packages, turn that off.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have now got the voice mail to email to work on LAN 1

I still have the issue of the IPhone SIP clients not registering when on the WAN. I have no problem when on the LAN

I have looked in monitor and there are no registration requests being received in IPO when on the WAN.

I have done the following:

DRAYTEK SETTINGS:

IPO LAN 1 address to DMZ Active True IP
strict firewall: unticked
Opened port 5060 (just in case!)

IPO SETTINGS

Firewall NAT Type: Static port block
Public address : My public address
Public port: 5060

IP Route
IP= 0.0.0.0
Subnet mask 0.0.0.0
Gateway= router address
Destination LAN1

Is there something I have missed or got wrong?

Be careful with putting the IPO in a DMZ!
You should be able to connect with manager.
What SIP clients do you use?

You will also need SIP ALG turning off, you need to telnet into the router to do this, I think it's SYS SIP_ALG = 0 or similar, also depending on how badly Draytek have written the firmware it may never work without rolling back a few levels :)

have the STUN server active so that it discovers the public IP address even though it is static it might have several and goes out another public IP.
I also had it that I could only make it work when STUn was on even though the public IP was correct.

Thanks for the suggestions amriddle and Westi

I have tried both suggestions.

I saw this in the monitor log

Does this mean that Stun is successfully enabled?

I still cannot register the phone.

I am testing using my mobile 3G for the phone.

Is it possible that my mobile provider is blocking SIP?
