LAN connection that is sending packets but not receiving them

How is it possible that a standalone pc can sent out data
but not receive any?
 
Having No cable hooked up...
Having wrong cable hooked up...
Wrong protocal used...

etc.

sorry, you get what you asked for...

No viable information, just a generalized question...

give us more info, ie. what are you trying to do? what setup are we talking about, ie. PC specs, NIC cards in use, etc...

it is just that a generalized question...if no cable is hooked up how can the pc sent out data ?

So the pc is not infact sending out any data but rather just sending it to the LAN port /ethernet adaptor?
 
Well you can ping 127.0.0.1 and get a reply LOL with no cable plugged in :)
