Hello everyone...

I inherited a BCM 1000 and was able to get it working. I can even get calls from the internet w/ voip phones using a SonicWall VPN. I just have two questions:

1) What model lan cards can I use in a BCM 1000 with 3.7 software? I want to have an internal and external network cards. I have searched tons of documentation and cannont find the specs.

2) Regarding CallPilot and DN length - my system is set for 4 digit DN's everywhere I can see. However, CP only sees three digits. When i go into system config via SSH (not the web interface), it shows only 3 digit. I have changed this many times, but it still comes back as 3 digits - not 4. Can someone point me in a direction?

Please bear in mind that I am more "networking" than I am "phones." Any help you folks can provide will be greatly apprecieated.

Thanks!

The LAN cards in BCM 1000 units are Netgear FA310TX cards. To my knowledge, those are the only cards that ever came in a BCM 1000.

If you changed the DN length from 3 to 4 in the Unified Manager, you'll need to do a reset on the voicemail to make it match the new length - there isn't any way to change the DN length in CallPilot without a reset/reinstall on the voicemail. It's an easy process, but you'll need to rebuild mailboxes, auto attendants, CCR trees, etc.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will search for those Netgear cards now.

On rebuilding CP - the good news is that I only have 3 mail boxes, no ACD trees, etc. The bad news is that I have no idea how to start that process. Do I "disable" the service and bring it back up (unified manager)? Or... do I re-init the box in the telnet session?

What I see as the process is as follows:

Uninstall CP
Ensure DN length is 4
Reinstall CP.

The question is - how do I "uninstall"?

Thanks!

It's on page 124 of the BCM 3.6 CallPilot manager setup guide. Page 126 of the BCM 3.7 CallPilot Manager setup guide.

It's been posted here several times, but I personally don't like posting default passwords on these sites - if you have the BCM, then you have access to the docs on the hard drive.

Biv343,

Thanks for all your help - it worked like a charm! It did the reset and now uses 4 digits just like I needed.

I must have glazed past that part about 5 times. When I was in the CP Manager (web), it said to go under "Operator" and select reset. It didn't exist. But I found where I can reset through the set. I followed that proceude and it worked perfectly!

Again, mucho thanks and have a great day!
