Hi,

Are there any free applics or built in options to check the activity/ see who's connecting to your machine?

I know winnt4 has a very basic option in control panel > server, but is there anything in Win2k or a better option that is realtime or keeps a log of activity in both winNT4 and Win2k?

Cheers,

Try going to This is a free download and is great. You can also go to start, run, mmc. Then add remove snap-ins, and when you select add-ins, you'll find an add-in called shares. It will ask you which PC you want to monitor, and select the one you want. I can go to my W2K server and see exactly how many users are connected to each shared folder at any one time. Good luck. glen,

Is the process you described similar to computer management under administrative tools? You can view shares there, just wondering if it does the same job as mmc.
just curious

It's almost identical, except with the snap-in, except you can choose which server to view the shares from your desktop. Glen A. Johnson
