Hi All,

Ok, so I might be in the wrong forum for this, but I thought I’d check in with my peers first.

This is more of a stored procedure problem than a Crystal one.

The Readers Digest Version:

I require information from 2 tables (really 4, detail, header, for each) which I cannot link in Crystal.

Our IS person has written a stored procedure that is supposed to retrieve what I require, but it takes forever.

When I hook CR to the SP it locks up CR, (Task Manager--> CR Not Responding). Perhaps, I’m not patient enough, but I’m not willing to wait 20 minutes for a stored procedure to return information for a 26 week period from 2 (4)tables.

Comments, Advise?, Need Input!!!!

Thx

Dear Nuffsaid,

I would say that the diagnosis you made in the title of your post applies.

What database backend? Do you have someone who is an expert in that backend that you could ask for performance improvements in your stored procedure.

I have written (lots of trial and error) some pretty complex stored procedures on a database where I am retriving 100,000 records and it runs in 1 - 2 minutes, tops!

I would suggest asking our friends in the SQL Server or Oracle Forum to take a look at the stored procedure for you and see what advice they can offer!
