We are about to produce 8 brochures in 8 different languages. The content of each brochure is the same except of course for the language change.
50% of the text content is new, the other 50% is unchanged from last years brochures, so we will pre-build each brochure in its relevant language using last years artwork. The remaing 50% of new text will need to be translated and re-inserted into the artwork.
Now we were (currently) going to do this by creating a translation document (containing all new text) in Word, which is then saved out as an RTF and sent to the translators for translation. Once returned from the translators it is opened in text edit (to avoid any font issues with accents etc) and copied and pasted into the relevant InDesign files.
Now with 8 brochures this is going to take some time, and a lot of (APPLE C) - (APPLE V)... And I'm sure there must be an easier way to do this?
We've previously used a 3rd party application called Point & Go which worked with Quark but not with InDesign.
Any ideas people, I will be very greatful for any input...
Thank you all VERY much.
