Lag Bewteen servers

I have 2 Exchange 2003 SP2 severs. The setup is one server for the people who work in the office and one server for the people in the field. We have been having a serious lag between the servers lately. I have force a connection for the emails to send between the 2. Any Ideas?

Try the Exchange Best Practice Analyser. It will test you Exchange Environment for you and tell you what's wrong
