I recently popped a win 2003 SQL server into a new domain. For some reason now the start menue desktop wont appear. You can do ctrl-alt-del and bring up task manager etc. Strangely connecting via RDP you can see the desktop. Trued re-adding to domain but still not desktop. Has this happened to anyone before?

Regards
Billy

Amended to say if you connect via rdp to the console the same thing happen when using a domain account but doesnt on a normal session. It doesnt happen when a local user account connects to the console via rdp..

im guessing currupted profile. login as the local admin and delete the domain admin profile, login as the domain admin, i bet the problem is resolved.

Look's to have been a permissions issue and old un identifiable acccount was lingering (s213121556 etc) from the old domain, stripped this out and its okay.
