Labels with formulas

My problem concerns printing labels with student data. We have an elementary report card created in Crystal that works beautifully. Now the teachers want student labels with grades to put in cumulative record folders.

In the report card, all formulas are hidden in the Details section and the report prints from the group footer. When I try labels that way I get identical labels for one student. I can't find a spot for the formulas.

I want to print Avery 5164 labels so every label is an individual student. Where do I put all the formulas so I get this? At this point the only way I can get individual students is to use the Details section for the printed report.

Yes, I AM one of those who "learns as I go" and am obviously NOT a Crystal instructor.

When you create your report, make sure you choose "mailing label" as your report type and not standard report. I have never figured out how to convert a standard report to a mailing label report, I always just start from scratch.

Put your database fields in the details section, you will see the layout of the label as you design your report. I do not see a need for any formulas in the report as you describe it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

There are plenty of formulas there for grade calculations. Each grade field references a formula that, in the report card, was in a suppressed details section.
