The label wizard is very helpful. However, I'd like to go one step further and print some information in the very top/bottom of the page of labels.

I envision printing counts of labels, page x of y, date of report and/or requester, etc. Modern printers have a very narrow margin in which they cannot print, so I'm really asking for the ability to use labels in rows or columns, but then to manipulate the "headear" or "footer" area.

Any advice?

Thanks,

John

I, personally, wouldn't go there. Most "labels" are printed on the prepared forms (a-la-Avery), which pretty well take into account the 'printable area'. Although these differ somewhat, you would need to find the specifics of your printer vs. the form and use the small area between. As soon as the form were processed on a different printer, the setup would need to be re-done.

The 'alternative' would be to "reserve" a row of labels on the top/bottom for your header/footer, and change the setup to not print the labels here, but to put your information in the "labels". This would reduce the number of labels you could print. ssince these are 'expensive' relative to plain paper, most businesses would discourage the practice.
