Hi

Quick questions. Is it possible to re'Label' a tape without loosing the information on the tape?

E.g I have a tape called 4m0000055 that I want to label Monday. The tape is currently used for differential backups and has data on it.

Cheers

Andrew

When you re-label any tape you will lose all information on it. Your best bet would be to get a new tape and label it monday, and keep the old one for any data that you may need to recover from it. Once enough time has passed you can then recycle the old tape back into the mix.

Hope this helps.
