labeling a Tape drive Exabyte

My problem is that we have 2 tapes that need to be backed up at a different physical site. We ring someone and tell them to put the tape in and we can check if there is a tape there. But, after that we need to swap tapes and ring them to change it but if he gets waylaid then we will overwrite the old tape.<br>
A time costly process
 
Add a second tape drive to fill after the first is filled, or consider not rewinding the first drive and running a loop to check for a rewound tape.
