I'm using CR 9 and SQL Server 2005. I would like to create a label report but I need to use grouping. Is there any way to create labels in group header or group footer instead of details? If not, I could show one detail per group but need to print the details across 3 label columns and down. Not sure how this can be accomplished since the label will always print starting from the leftmost column for every new group. Thanks.

You can create a manual label report by selecting blank report and then in the section expert choosing "format with multiple columns" on the detail section. In the layout tab to the right, also select "format groups with multiple columns". You have to set the width (maybe 2.5 and the gap (about .2)) in order to force the three columns. You can insert groups as necessary and suppress the detail section if you need to. You have to play with margins to make it work with label paper.

Thanks. I had no idea that "Format Group with Multiple Columns" was available. Good find!
