I know this comes up every now and then but now it's me that needs one this time.

I have been using the Panduit LS7 and they are really great. Well they discontinued these and went to the LS8. I had our Panduit rep came by and let me play with it a bit. It sucks IMO. Way to complicated to use for every day label making.

So what are you guys using today to make you labels?

Thanks for your time and replies.

The wireless telegraph is not difficult to understand. The ordinary telegraph is like a very long cat. You pull the tail in New York, and it meows in Los Angeles. The wireless is the same, only without the cat.

I have the Dymo RhinoPro 5000. Its not Dymo's top of the line but prints everything I need just the same. Patch Panel button, wire wrap button (with various cable awg sizes)

Its pretty durable, can survive a drop or two, and prints clear

Thanks for the reply pbxn. I looked up the Rhinopro and it has great reviews for every site i found it on. So I placed a order for one today.

I will let you know if I like it..

I use the RhinoPro 5000 as well. We have 2 of them and the Panduit LS8. The LS8 collects dust. The cost of usage is just way too high.

That was another great selling point. The LS8 tapes are high. My vendor told me the cost of the tapes for the Rhino was around $15.00. Thats cheaper than the LS7 tapes are costing me now.

I can't stand ABCDEF keyboards. I know QWERTY takes a little more horizontal size but if that can put QWERTY on Treos and Blackberrys why can't they make a small labeler with a decent keyboard.

I drag around a Brady LS2000 because I can make labels faster with it's decent keyboard. The offset QWERTY of the Panduit LS7 was better than the ABCDEF of the LS8...

mickeydidit..dont know what size jobs you get into
but rhino had a great deal and we got a rhino 6500
that work great but it came with a free rhino 6000
what is nice about this it has software to load on your
computer and build you labels for a good size job then
download it to he rhino 6500 or 6000 to print the job.

no problems only solutions

Thanks for the replies guys. The LS8 has the capability to connect to your PC and download labels, but how often would you really "NEED" to do that. IMO that just makes the units more complex (maybe to complex or complicated) for everyday use like we do. As long as it can print for jacks, cables, patch panels, and occasionally a LIU, thats all I need.
