OK, I went through my stack of old gear and found one with a Packet Voice DSP Module.
I put an FXO in slot 0 and an FXS in slot 1, show run and

very excited.
The first thing I would like to do is plumb an analog line into the FXO and have it pop out the FXS. I am pretty sure this is possible.
I do not understand any of the commands, but I do have experience on Mitel and Nortel PBXs could I please beg for a snippet of config to get me started.
for starters, I do not understand how dial-peer relates to the voice ports. do I have to assign the same dial peer to both the IN and the OUT port on the FX cards?
After this, I am going to try to find another router that can support my equipment and attempt to extend an analog line through two networked routers. Eventually I would like to get 5 lines, but I dont think the 1700 routers can support that.
