L700 with DLT7000 Running veritas Netbackup rev 5

I have a customer running Net Backup rev 5. I have just swapped out the DLT 7000 twice with known good drives and Veritas is downing the drives each night. Can someone please confirm that with net backup 5 one needs to delete the drive from Veritas andthen add the new drive to NB.

I think that might be the case if it's the Windows version of NB.
