I need to attach a Storagetek L20 tape library to a sparc server running solaris 7 64 bit. The O/S recognises the Drive (Quantum DLT7000) but the O/S is not picking up the Library. With Solaris 8 the sgen driver is used, but this does not work for Solaris 7.
The backup software we use (cosmos from functional s/ware) has its own driver for 32 bit systems. I believe the sg driver available on patch 107502-01 is supposed to work in our case but it isn't picking up the library. When the driver is installed I ran add_drv sg and got the message:
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: sg
Warning: Driver (sg) successfully added to system but failed to attach.
has anyone setup a L20 library on a solaris 7 (64bit) system?
