I have RH9 with a samba domain and have successfully added clients to it.

All I want now is to share a COMMON ADDRESS BOOK and was wondering what domain I would use in slapd.conf (dc=mydomain,dc=com)?

My RH9 machine netbios name is: "Centaur" (163.252.105.2)
My Samba Workgroup/Domain name is: "eff"

I presumed that all I would have to add in slapd.conf would be:

suffix "dc=eff"

Do I need to change the domain name so that it is a fully qualified domain name? eg. "dc=eff,dc=com". Obviously I am not understanding this LDAP thingy very clearly...can someone help me out?

well first of all i would like to congratulate u for setting up samba as a domain ....because i have been trying to do that.
secondly to setup ldap it requires DNS to be configured first and that also with revers look ups.....so what ever name u specufy in named.conf i guess that will b used as ur domain name or else u can make use of comand "domainname"

bye
