One of the people in our office uses a Kyocera 7135. Recently he reported that his palm crashed and when I checked the log, messages like this started to appear during the mail synchronization step yesterday, October 22, 2003:

- Could not copy the following record to the handheld:
From: xxxx, 9/8/2003, Subject
The memory in your handheld may be full. To check the available memory, select Memory from the handheld's Application Launcher.

That is it could not continue synching and it looks like a memory issue. I looked at this user's backup file on his desktop and found that it was 137mb in size.

How do I find out what the real memory available is on the palm? and how much is in use? I could not find any memory option anywhere in the Application launcher.

I have heard that this is not necessarily a memory issue and am wondering if this means something is corrupt on the palm or in the user's outlook. He also uses Dataviz' program "Documents to Go", version 5, in order to get his attachments into his palm. The backup folder on his desktop does not show that a large attachment was recently synched to his palm. He is also using InfoXpress to sycnh his email wirelessly away from the office.

Any help is appreciated!
Thank you

Well I think I can help you on that one, depending on the Mail client. I personally use Versa mail, and it syncronises with the desktop which makes me think thats what you may be using. Versa mail stores all the Email on the internal memory, (and yes I agree that sucks). So that means if his email box is bloated with attachments and such, and you don't check the (Palm Sync Button on SYSTray/Custom/Versamail/Change) rules and limit size, as well as the settings for size kept on the Kyocera, you will run out of room real quick.

P.S don't forget that Email Attaachments that are 1MB are really 1.5MB at least due to Mime Encoding.
