I have added a KXTVS100 to and existing KX-td1232. I have defaulted the TVS system and when I started hyper-terminal I can see the TVS100 boot up and it sees the ports from the KX-TD1232 and it says everything is ok. When it comes time to press enter to get into the programming of the TVS I get no response from the voicemail system. I know that my cable and usb adapter work because before I was working on the TVS I had been doing programming on the KX-TD1232. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the switches are returned to "0"
Since you can see data coming down sounds like the cable and settings are ok
Only thing is the tx wire could be faulty. Have you tried it on the kxtd since you are having problems

I set the switch to 0 when starting and then set it if 5 after the system powered up and I got the message on hyper terminal to Chang the setting or all programming would be lost at next power up. I have even rebooted the pc and tvs several times and i see data coming from the tvs but hen it is time to press enter and get into the programming menus nothing happens. I had used this Same computer and cable on the kx-td1232 for programming just before I tried programming the tvs.

Thanks for the info. The problem was on my end. I didn't have the communication parameters in hyper-terminal set correctly.
