We have a Panasonic KX-TDA100 system with a TVP100 Voicemail unit. The whole system is working fine with no (known) issues other than this one. One particular user will receive a call fairly frequently but completly random from extension either 239 or 240. When the user answers an automated recording sounds "this is the voice processing unit..." then some rap backing music will kick in and a random guy will reel off some message that can't quite be deciphered, basically spam.

Users dial ext 500 to get their voice mail; however 239 & 240 are the ports the TVP is physically connected to. Therefore dialling 239/240 will also take you to your voice mail.

I'm scratching my head as to how/where these messages originate from and why it will automatically go straight through to that user. A regular voice mail message will sit on the user’s phone and light up the message light.

I appreciate that I can’t stop someone calling in but there seems to be more to it than that.

Any ideas and I'd be really grateful.

Thanks in advance
Adam

A] make sure 998 and 999 have a secure passcode on them !!
Then log on to voicemail with dumb terminal make sure there are
no odd mailboxes other than the ones that belongs to a memeber on the system! if you are not using remote notification get into TDA snd put exts 239-240 into a class or service that does not allow
outgoing line access !! What you are getting is hacker trying every thing to relay calls off you telephone system which left unchecked
can cost your lot a bundle!!!

Hi, Thanks for your post. I see what you are saying however that will go over my scope so I will need to get my phone engineer in to sort this issue.

Thanks for the information though, I thought it seemed very dodgy.

Regards
Adam
