KXTD1232 and TVS75

I have a just been given a KXTD1232 and a TVS75 VM to use in a class that I teach. The TVS75 is not attached to the system. I know port 8 should be used to attach the unit, it is a 4 x 8 unit with 2 expansion cards. Since it uses an amphenol connector, which wires are considered port 8? Is this system easy to configure, anything I should know (I'm almost afraid to ask)!
