KX TEA 308 programing

hi im new to this but have just fitted a kx tea 308, ive got my head around programming from a pc etc and its all doing what i want but.... when i lift a handset i get a constant dial tone..dial 9 and then get an alternating tone? is this correct? everything works fine just i would assume the outside line dial to be constant?

Not sure where you are based but here that could be a message waiting on the go line or that line is diverted. If you press one 1 to 3 or the amount of lines you have. Is it on one or all lines. Is it only when you dial 9

The alternative tone "dial 9 and then get an alternating tone" means you have ceased the outgoing line and can now dial you destination number.

I am assuming all you CO Line settings are correct.
