Hi

I'm investigating SIP trunks for our business in order to get ready for the great PSTN/ISDN shutdown. We have a KX-TDA30 PBX.

Do I just need to get a SIP trunk card such as the 4 channel KX-TDA3450 card then then find a SIP trunk provider to link to and configure the SIP trunks as the CO in the PBX or do I also need a VOIP card as well.... we have KX-T7630 handsets. Cant find many people selling the KX-TDA3450 card - is there a reason for that?

You will need a sip card and a sip provider and port yoir numbers to them

They will be hard to get as it is an older system ( must be 8 years or more since it was last sold as new)

You could get a ns700 system and use your old phones. It might be better value in the long run

I am advised that only Panasonic certified engineers are able to install the NS700 - is that correct - I am told that only certified engineers have access codes for the system setup and coumentation. Could you please clarify this point? I have instaled several other PBX's inc our current Panasonic PBX ( KD-TDA30 ) and am fully capable of installing the NS700 if I have access to the software / license keys etc. Is there a warranty impact for not using a Panasonic certified installer?

The tda30 was as well. Over here for support from panasonic you need to be certified. There is no activation key need here. I know that is different in the USA.

The ns systems use web browser to access the programming
It might be worth getting an installer to fit it if he gives you admin access. This level is variable so he can allow you most parts of the programming. All if he wanted. It is what I would give an onsite admin personal to make changes. The more confident he or her is the more acces I wouls give. Someone who was nervous I would only give speeddial access 😁
