Hello all,
I have a customer with the problem above.
Internal call - Extension to extension work fine.
Incoming trunk calls work fine.

Outgoing trunk call dont go through.

Previously all was working fine untill a week ago.

What could be causing this.

Any help is highly appreciated.

if these are loopstart trunks and the first trunk in your outgoing trunk group is dead at the demarc you will have loads of misfires ...

if there are any missing lines in your out going trunk group you are going to get a fast busy from system when that line is auto selected incoming calls have nothing to do with outgoing calls if a line is present on the system and it is assigned to ring and the phone system senses ringing voltage what is going to happen ..........

Have checked that and all seem fine.what i didnt state is that its an ISDN Line through PRI30.

run a isdn trace when making a call
did they reduce the channels on the pri to save money put line key on phone on co 1 and try making a call. is there any other line cards in the system check line settings and see what else is in that group
last thing what is happing when making a call
did they change their carrier and did they pay their bill

O do you see why it is important to tell us what kind of trunking you have on the system in question from the get go ......

cwc3, yes there is a missing service line that was previously connected to an LCOT card.
The Line is nolonger in use and was cut off.

The service line connection right now is ISDN thru PRI30.
OBT, Channels on the PRI were not reduced.Yes there is another Line card LCOT in the system.

The previous service line that was previously connected to the LCOT card is in Trunk Group2 while the ISDN Line is in Trunk Group1.

OBT, What happens when making a call?
After entering the account code, the systems returns beeps when the fourth dialed digit of the number to be called is dialed. It ceases the trunk line well but when you enter the fourth digit, you get busy tone.

Thanks for all your replies.

that sounds like a carrier fault, I have seen it happen here, when the lines were on a carrier or cps and the calls are being id by cli being sent to the carrier is not on their system. have you changed anything on the outgoing trunk cli if so make sure the numbers are allowed on line provider list.

Set up a test ext with a paired dss connected or side car and assign 30 single co buttons on that station and see if you get dt on all 30 lines on pri ....

OBT I have not changed anything on the outgoing trunk CLI

CWC3Is there someway i can test the lines before feeding it into the PBX?

cwc3
Do i get dial tone?Yes, i do get dial tone when i enter Extension PIN and cease the Line.

I am suspecting it may be a service provider issue but the client says they called the service provider tech who alleges the problem is with the PBX.

Thanks for the effort made to help.

you will need a pri isdn tester, you may be able to hire one.
if you have a system with a pri card in it and 1 extension it should prove the system or line

The problem was rectified by a colleague i asked to log into the system remotely.

Just not sure what he did, am yet to find out.

Thanks for all you contributions.
