KX-TD1232 Lithium Battery Replacement

System cleared after someone messed with it while I was away, they say all they did was push the reset button. I thought I would replace the battery on the board before I programmed it again so as not to lose it during a power glitch. I bought a CR2354 battery, but it does not have the insulator or the legs that go to the board. Do you have to send off the system to get the battery replaced? If not how do you get the old one out and the new one in?
Do you have to buy the battery with the legs and insulator on it? Thanks

i have been doing panasonic for 15 years and havent replaced a battery yet so i cant answer the question for you however i will say this 1. check the clear switch make sure it is in the right pos
2. make your backup and switch off the power then on again and see if you loose the time
i will have a look at a old system and chk the battery issue for you
