KX-TAW848

Has anyone had any experience with the TAW848 especially providing wireless extensions on this system?
I have a potential customer looking for a wireless setup, no wired sets to start with. Maybe 4-6 co lines and maybe 6 or 8 extensions, all wireless.

I was thinking that the TAW848 might be somewhere to start and if his business grew and needed pri or ti, voip, etc. he could move up to the TDA100 or 200.

I dont have alot of experience with the panasonic line up yet, mostly Norstar but I don't see a suitable wireless solution with the Norstar that might not cause a lot of frustration for the customer.

I was looking at the kd-tg4000b but have received mixed reviews from other sites. Besides the sets would not be transferable to other systems and the system doesn't expand past 4 co lines and 8-9 stations.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

why not start with the tda-100 & build it for your needs

I'm not to sure how to approach this customer to start because I know they have talked to other venders. They are a startup energy company sharing offices with another established energy company. They have inidcated to me they will be sharing these offices for another 3 to 6 months before moving into their own space somewhere else. They did indicate that they preferred a cordless setup at present so that when they move they can just pick up things and leave. That's why I mentioned the kx-tg4000b set up as I know cost at present may be an issue. I'd hate to lose them because I threw a more expensive solution at them right off the bat even though they may need exactly that down the road.

From what I have read the kx-taw848 looks good but would have to purchase a tvp50 for voice mail. This may not be in their budget. I just don't know yet but would like to quote costs on all including the tda100 which I know nothing about.

I was curious if anyone had installed the taw848 and what they thought about it.

Another solution may be a kx-td816 and use the xdp ports for cordless base stations. Has anyone attempted this setup with good success?

the kxtd 8-16 is a good option i have done and still do use this system the xdp setup is v/easy however with the kxtd range of systems now being discontinued the thing is how long will the parts be available for... i suppose a few years anyway ...this system is being replaced by the td-a system and would work out the same price but it is a much better system ....also the tvp50 has also been discontinued and is now replaced with the tv-m v/mail & is also a much better system....you are right though..if the customer doesent have the funds at the start then keep it small the 8-16 or tda 100 can handle any kind of annalog (slt) phone.

I set up a TAW848 in a home and we set up 8 wireless phones with two base stations to cover their property. They love it and it really was not hard at all. We also set up two hardwired phones to use as loudspeaker stations. Each wireless extension is set to a location designated by the owners. They have two CO lines coming in. With the software it really was pretty easy to initially set up and very easy to manage. They wanted to have dialtone first which was no problem. Next step will be a doorphone and then maybe voicemail.
