i apologize for any redundancy, but this is killing me and i have to get this set up. I have a KX-TA824 PBX hooked up to a KX-TVA50 VPS. When the AA answers "press 1 for sales, 2 for service, etc." I can make it ring a single extension. What I am trying to do is have it ring multiple extensions. I need to have 3 Groups. Sales, Service, and Support. These groups need to have their own mailboxes. In addition, I need most of the extensions to have their own personal mailboxes. When i go into the extension group parameters on the TVA50 maintenance console, It wont let me add any of the extensions to a group because they already have mailboxes assigned to them. This seems like a trivial problem and im sure theres a simple solution. I do not understand all the technical jargon, so if you could explain this in layman's terms, it would be much appreciated. If you could also specify what needs to be done in the PBX software, and what needs to be done in the VPS software, that would be a big help also.

Thanks!

In simple layman's terms, you have the wrong telephone system.

The KXTA-824 telephone system does not have the ability to ring multiple extensions at the same time via the Intercom.
No matter what device you connect to the KXTA-824 (VM, Single Line Telephone or Multiline Telephone) it cannot ring multiple extensions at the same time.
It does not have any type of Group Ring, Group Call, Ring All Hunt Group etc..

Since the KXTVA-50 VM basically connects to the KXTA-824 as an Intercom Device, its ability is limited to what the KXTA-824 can do.
There isn't any programming in the KXTVA-50 to overcome this.

Sure you can get creative and wire unused CO Line Ports to unused extensions and get it to kind of work.
My experience with this solution is that there is a loss in the volume/loudness that customers will pick up on and complain.

You really need a Panasonic KXTDA-50 telephone system, it will do everything that you want it to do.

If you are stuck with the KXTA-824 then you are stuck.

OK. Thank you. Thats the conclusion that i was coming to, but glad its confirmed.
