Hello All,

I got a couple questions about CO jumping. I have a KX-TA824 and when CO1 is busy I'm trying to make it jump to CO2 using the same main number but with 2 different lines. Is this possible? Any thoughts? Any help would be much appreciated.

this has to be done by your telephone line provider. and is called hunting or rollover line

It's surpising how many people (usually in sales) say that the phone system does that. The correct terminology is hunting; line hunt, rotary group, etc may also be used (in Australia anyway).

Is Hunting different from setting Line Preference-Outgoing to Idle? Just newbie here trying to look info for 824

Line Preference is for outgoing calls, incoming call hunting is handled by provider

You can set up a "poor man's hunt" if you set CF-Busy to a line. We have done it, but the "gotcha" is it will usually only take one hop, as in if you have L1,L2 and L3, you can make 1 humt to 2 and two hunt to 3, but the expected call to line 1 will only take one hop to 2 and not to 3.

over here, hunting is free, and call fwd would cost price of local call every time
