I was hired to be an IT technician for some boutique hotels. As part of all the mess i inherited one of the biggest woes is the phone system. We currently run a Panasonic KX-T1232.
We needed to change the extensions and that where the problem started. I tried using the phone we have in the front desk to do programming using manuals, but we dont have the phone that is displayed in the manuals. I tried programming here and there and no luck. Next i tried hyperterminal in windows, i got in the system but no luck programming neither. Also i tried downloading programs to do it and no luck there neither.

Now our extensions are messed up and nobody in the 300 miles nows how to work with it.

Ok so far, i can get the call logs to my computer with a null modem cable. It displays KX-T1232H in the administrator screen.

Anyone knows a good book for novice on programming this system?

Also what tools do i need?

I am trying to have 3 lines in the front desk for the clerks, one of them is for the fax. Also there are 13 rooms in the hotel that need to have outside line access.

Can osmeone help me? :(

what country are you in because there is a 3rd party programing utility for the kx-t 123210/11D available
I have it on my toughbook and use it time to time to
take a snapshot of the database thats in there
when you are programing you have to throw the system
over to EIA and it is inopertive untill you are done

also if you don't have all the docs including eia
programing I can give you the link!!

I am in Puerto Rico. I tried the programator kx-t123210/11D which i downloaded. I get online, but the problem lies in that when i try to donwload from the PBX to the PC it gets an error on code 1C01. The answer form the system is --k--- so it never gets to check the system

Ok i cheked the program again. I got the KX-T12320/KX-T123211 programator unregistered version.
The error goes like this:

Error in cmd: 1C01(1,0,0)
RecBuf='--k--'

The - is actually a square, like an unidentified character.

ok i checked the COM settings and played with them and the same problem.
Then i set up the com settings 1200-7-1-n to my com ports on the system section of windows xp. Also lowered the FIFO buffers(lowered from 4/4 to 2/4). Still with the same problem.

I am wondering because using setting 1200-7-1-n i can see the call log in hypertemrinal under windows, but i get errors with this program.

Is it because it is unregistered? version 1.03.1

I have a reg'ed version and works fine but you can still set the ksu in an hour!

ksu??? also i am afraid that is the trial versio doesnt work, the normal one wont work either :(

just use a display phone will take you 2 hours

CWC3 IS THE MAN!!
i never used software to program on of these it takes longer to plug the cable in.

Well i actually sit down and learned how to do it thru the hpone. You are right, it is easier. Now i go a big problem. When someone click on the door phone which is extension 551, the room 104 (ext 154) phone rings.

Also one of my lines dont ring when receving calls :(

What can i do in that one?

coqui do you have a web site if I could pull a
email off of it i'dd send you the cheat sheet for the
1232 also if you join I am the mod for
panasonic there and you can be PM'd there

hey wait a doggone min how did you get ext 541 on the analog
only 100-199 on usa version are you sure this is not a kx-td 1232 or kx-ta 1232?

yes, the metallic label on the left side of the phone says KX-T1232. Also when I cxonnect thru hyperterminal it says KX-T1232H.

I was reading the manual and for the door phone you use an expnasion card which goes on the machine and gives you 551 as a default.

Checking on why the room is ringing, actually 105. Duno, it should only ring on the phone plugged to jack 01 which is the reception. Room 105 phone is connected to jack #5.

ok i registered and posted a new thread on the panasonic forums, Thanks CWC3.

ok so once i got the cheat sheet. I am looking at:

#1. Getting the phone in jack #1 to ring when receiving calls from CO#3.
#2. The doorphone (ext. 551) rings on the jack#1 phone which is great, but it also does it on the jack #5 phone (wrong).

Any other things i will be sure to keep on consulting, thanks. I have been learning a lot about this system and hopefully i can help someone else on the future.

ok, got it all figured out.

now i am trying to figure out how to make phones in jacks#2 to #21 access outside lines by dialing number 9 and the phone number, using CO#2, and if #2 is in use to then try CO#4.

So far those phones can only make calls inside the building to other extensions.

Thanks for the tips so far :D

look at co day out
co night out
you have to type the line that you want them to dial out on IE 1234 for lines 1 to 4
also look at class of service make sure it set as 1

peter

Thanks for the answer peter. What does class of service do?

it allows or denys certian systems functions like
executive override or paginging or dnd or .....

class of service also restricts access to outside numbers for instance if you wanted a ext user to only be able to dial a local no: you would set a toll restriction table IE 4 then then set that ext to COS 4.......
or class of service 7 will only allow a user to ring internaly or numbers set in the system speed dial table class of service 1 has no restrictions and works upward to COS 5
also if it is a class of service that is stopping your users from making calls .....when a call is attempted the display will say ( restricted )
