KX-NS700 WMC login not working

Hoping someone has seen this or has an idea. I'm not able to log into the Web Maintenance Console. It just comes immediately back to the log in page with an error message "Session time out / Connection timeout". So I'm not able to get into the KX-NS system. Below are the details...

I had noticed a couple days ago the status LED on the KX-NS was red. It's happened before from errors accumulating in the log file. Aand when that happened in the past, the system would periodically (not constantly) act up on IBC/OBC calls (one-way audio, frozen calls, non-responsive endpoints, etc). Those symptoms would all gone away as soon as the error log was cleared. So I've been periodically clearing the error log to keep it green, and also working on the cause of the errors - most of which are minor.

But a couple days ago, when I tried to log into the Web Maintenance Console in order to clear the error log, the WMC did not complete the login and instead came right back with the "session timeout / connection timeout" error message. And that's the problem, it won't login.

The Username and password are correct. Firefox on the maintenance laptop is unchanged. I tried from a diff PC with a diff Firefox version. Cleared all cookies. There have been no changes to the network. The maintenance laptop is connected on the same direct local network as the PBX. The laptop can see the KX-NS system, hence getting to the WMC login page, it just won't login and get past that page. It's like the WMC function inside the PBX is stuck or or having issues.

The PBX status LED is still red because I can't clear the error log because I can't login to the WMC.

I'll add that that the PBX is on a multi-hour UPS system and there was a late night power outage last week when I was out of town. It lasted several hours and likely eventually ran out of power to the PBX. When power was restored during the middle of the night, the PBX rebooted and appears to have resumed on its own. Don't know if that may be related. Everything else on the PBX seems to be working just fine (except occasionally when acting up).

Any ideas of what might be causing the WMC login issue, or how I can get logged in?

If the KX-NS700 system files have been corrupted and need to be reloaded, I've not done that and don't know what's involved. I do have a
recent backup (8/24/2023) of the DFSYS file. I don't know what else I would need.

Thank you. Your thoughts or suggestions are very much appreciated, since I'm still learning my way around the system.

Have you tried to connect to the PBX via a USB-LAN adapter?

Not yet. I picked up an adapter over the weekend, and was looking for some information on how best to proceed. Plug it in and connect it to the LAN, disconnect the front LAN port(?), and point Firefox to 223.0.0.1? Does that address go to the WMC login page or does it go to a different UI?

The computer will receive IP address 223.0.0.15 via DHCP from the USB-LAN adapter. You must connect to the PBX via IP 223.0.0.1

Is the address of 223.0.0.15 specific to a Panasonic adapter? I bought a generic.
Do you know if by connecting to the PBX via 223.0.0.1, it goes to the same WMC login page or something different?

The PBX assigns an IP address of 223.0.0.15. You can use an adapter of any model.

Connecting to the PBX via 223.0.0.1 goes to the same WMC login page. The PBX has one login page. But connection to the WEB server will occur through another port. LAN and LAN via USB are different connection paths. The PBX has a built-in switch.

Update - By connecting an APC 940-0127 USB/RJ-50 shutdown cable to the 'USB' port on the back of our APC UPS 3100XL and to the USB port on the PBX front, and then winding down the UPS battery level to <50%, it triggered an orderly PBX shutdown. Then upon PBX power off and power on, the WMC login works again. Seems the internal web server was hung up on that login page (most likely after the power failure and UPS ran out) and it needed a reboot. We'll leave the 940-0127 USB/RJ-50 shutdown cable plugged in going forward to avoid a repeat in the event of an extended power failure. Thank you everyone for your support.

Next up is to get the UPS Network Management Card AP9617 to connect to the network and powerchute. At the moment, no status lights, just network lights. Probably have to de-power the UPS and re-seat the card. Project for another day.
