Hi I was wondering if any one can help me I have just got a new kvm switch and am having problems with the key board. All 4 ports of the kvm are in use 2 on xp machines and the other 2 on server 2003 after a reboot all 4 seem to work but on both of the servers the key board can only type intermittently and makes bleeping sounds if u type fast it does not display all of the characters any help would be greatly appreciated

Try a replacement.

Double posting is not required. There is enough activity here to get it answered on the other forum.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

I had a similar experience with a KVM switch. There was an issue with which slots were being used with which OS. I can't remember the specifics, but I do remember having to not "skip" any holes, and something about the "oldest" or least capable OS being closest to the #1 switch position. At the time we were using a mix of XP Pro workstation with 2 W2K servers. The fourth slot would get filled with the occasional temporary server or troubleshooting machine. Sorry to be so vague and sketchy on the details, but don't be afraid to play around with plug locations.
