Hi all

ifconfig on ce interface shows that the interface is up but kstat shows the link down.

ce1: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4>

kstat -p ce:1:ce1:link_up shows ce:1:ce1:link_up 0

Why are the results different? Thoughts welcome.

- TIA

The ifconfig 'UP' flag just means that you've configured the interface to be available... it doesn't depend on a link being there. You can configure an interface to be UP even if it doesn't have a cable connected.... it just means that as soon as you connect a cable it is available.

Your results indicate that the network link itself isn't available; check your cable, switch, link lights, etc.

Annihilannic.
