I have several korn scripts that I want to convert to Bourne. Is there any utility out there, that I can download and use to do this?

schwarem,

I have never heard of a utility that can convert korn scripts to bourne scripts. A similar question on another forum asking for help converting from bourne to csh didn't come up with a utility for that kind of conversion, either.

Korn and Bourne are very similar, so it shouldn't be too difficult. But there are a few differences that might trip you up, especially if you are going from Korn to Bourne.

I would suggest you take a look at O'Reilly's Unix in a Nutshell. The third chapter in that book lists common features and differing features for the shells. Those lists might help you convert the scripts.

Good luck.
