We have a Word file which has been translated into the Korean font Batang. When we open the Word file the document looks perfect. When we try to copy and paste the text into Pagemaker 7, it does not recognize the font although we know that the font is installed on our computer. How can we copy the Word text into Pagemaker 7 properly. We can paste special as a Meta file but importing as a graphic does not allow us to set the type - the text acts as a graphic and becomes corrupted it you try to resize. Please let us know if you have any solutions.

First.. a word to the wise.. never ever copy and paste anything into a PM document.. you will have problems down the road.

What happens if you save the file as RTF format in Word, then place it?

PM7 has a pretty good conversion from Word to PM.. I still use PM6.5 and don't use Word, so I couldn't tell you specifics... possibly someone else in the forum has experience doing that.

Another method if all else fails is to convertthe word document inot a PDF and place that in the PM doc... this will result in file bloating however. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
