Kodak V610 internal memory data recovery please!

What software will recover data from the internal memory of my Kodak V610 camera? I have been trying a lot of 3rd party solutions but they cannot see the camera when connected via USB, the camera (under Vista) shows up like a webcam or scanner in My Computer and thus virtual like. I think recovery software only looks at drives like USB external and local C:` and optical.

The images on the internal drive can be copied from the camera when connected but I need to get a program to resurrect the deleted ones, how do I do this please?

does your camera have an option in its setup that allows the camera to be seen/act as a disk drive?

my does and that way you can use most recovery software programs.

Unfortunately not and that's my problem. I have been suggested that I use Linux in order to get access to the internal memory but I don't know how to do that.

i think that would still require you being able to see your camera as a drive

That, apparently, is precisely what Linux will do. I will let you know if it works.
