Kodak Image Edit (rotation)

Hi all. My first time in this forum.
I have around 3000 batches (zip files) containing 50 image files each. I am using a Kodak Image Edit control and i need to rotate the images, which I can do pretty easily. My problem is that some batches need to be ratated to the right and some to the left, homw do I determine the orientation of the image so I can rotate them accordingly?
Is there any other image editing control that has that capability?

Any help is appreciated.
